Chapter officers’ nominations and their election shall occur each August at a regular meeting. Annually a President-Elect shall be nominated and elected. The President-Elect position upon completion of one year term automatically moves to President, which is a one year term. Upon completion of one year term as President, President moves to Past President, one year term. Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected for two year terms. Nominations for Treasurer shall be made in odd numbered years and nominations for Secretary shall be made in even numbered years. Staggered elections allow for continuity within the board from year to year. The elected officers for 2019 are noted below.


President – April Metcalf

April Metcalf currently holds the position of Human Resources Manager for Emerson Construction. April has been in Human Resources for over 20 years and has held positions responsible for recruiting, benefits and compensation, employee relations, as well as training/performance development. April is very passionate about Human Resources and ensuring that we provide value to our internal customers.April is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management as well as studying for the SHRM-CP exam and looks forward to completing both of those tasks.


President Elect - Jody Askins

Jody Askins is a Director of Workforce Education for the Business and Continuing Education Division at Temple College.  The majority of Jody’s career has been in training and professional development; she has also served in a human resource management role in a global corporate environment.   She has a Master’s degree from Mary Hardin Baylor, and has maintained her Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) from the Association of Talent Development since 2012. 

Jody’s passionate about personal and professional growth! 


Treasurer - Stephanie Branham-Selters, SHRM-SCP

Stephanie Branham-Selters is the Human Resources Manager of Allumed, Inc. She handles all HR duties for both locations, in Temple and Grand Prairie, to include recruiting employees, composing and maintaining policies, administering benefit programs, responding to employee concerns, and handling unemployment cases. She has been employed with the company since 2002, during which time she has also managed the Accounts Receivable Department, all company contracts, and assistance in accreditation compliance.

Stephanie graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. More recently, she attended the inaugural Human Resource Management Academy through Temple College in order to prepare for the first round of testing for the new SHRM certification exams. She obtained her SHRM-SCP credentials in July of 2015. Soon after receiving the passing results of the exam, Stephanie was chosen as one of forty-nine participants globally to attend a five day rapid item writing workshop in Washington, D.C. with members of SHRM and Prometric. Participation in that workshop resulted in the construction of hundreds of multiple choice and situational judgment items for future SHRM-SCP and SHRM-CP exams. Since that opportunity, she has been requested by SHRM to assist with developing rationale statements for the free-standing multiple-choice items which were produced during the workshop.

In addition to the secretarial duties for CTHRMA, Stephanie is also the Treasurer of a Belton Elementary School PTA. Stephanie is a military spouse, and throughout 2015, she was the Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leader for an army company on Ft. Hood. She remains connected to the military families in order to offer assistance with concerns and connectivity to the community. She is also a volunteer assistant with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Stephanie has two children who are very active in extracurricular activities.

Stephanie is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree.

Membership Chair - Tina Flores-Nevarez

Tina Flores-Nevarez currently holds the position of Director, Human Resources for Texas A&M University-Central Texas in Killeen.  In this role she works as a business partner with Executive level staff with implementing strategic plans, goals and employee relations. Tina’s career in Human Resources began in 2000 when she was the Benefits Administrator with a publishing company called United Business Media, Inc. until she moved to Texas in 2002.  In 2004, she worked for the City of Killeen as the Benefits Specialist and HR Generalist until February of 2011. Tina joined Texas A&M University-Central Texas in February of 2011. Tina has over 16 years of HR experience in employee benefits, payroll, risk management, employee relations, recruiting and training. Tina was an also adjunct instructor at Texas A&M University-Central Texas for three years where she taught Huma Resource Management to undergraduate students.

Tina graduated from Herbert H. Lehman College (CUNY) in New York City in June of 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration and is a graduate of Texas A&M University-Central Texas where she earned her Master of Science in Human Resource Management in December of 2011.

Amy Hayes is currently the Director of Benefits for Temple Independent School District in Temple, TX. She is an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional with over 15 years in the field. She received her degree in Human Resources Management from Tarleton State University, earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2009 and her SHRM-CP from SHRM in 2015.

Amy has worked in all areas of HR to include, but not limited to: Employee Relations, Staffing and Recruitment, Leadership and Employee Development, Benefits/Compensation, and Training/Performance Development.

Amy is passionate about helping businesses make the most of their resources and talent and helping employees make the most of their role in the organization.

Cindy is currently employed as a Vice President and Human Resources Manager for HKS, INC. and is responsible for managing Human Resources for 1336 – person staff nationwide which includes: establishing and promoting workplace policies,  developing and distributing information regarding workplace benefits, and researching and adhering to regulatory issues, employee relations issues and  conflict resolution, and working in association with the Director of Human Resources. She has over 18 years of broad HR Generalist experience, specializing in Benefits and Legal and Immigration processes.  Cindy completed her Bachelors of Business Administration specializing in Human Resources  at the University of North Texas.  She is also a proud member of the SHRM and received her certification as Professional in Human Resources (PHR)  from the Human Resources Certification Institute and her SHRM-CP from the Society for Human Resource Management.


Past President - Kimberly Hartman

Kimberly Hartman currently holds the position of Senior Human Resources Manager at the Armed Services YMCA in Killeen. In this role she is responsible for implementing human resource management strategies that enable the ASYMCA to recruit, train, and retain a high performing and motivated workforce. Kimberly specializes in labor relations, and talent management. Kimberly also works as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University-Central Texas teaching Human Resource Management and general Business classes.

Kimberly completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management in May 2013, and her Master’s in Business Administration in May 2016 at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.  She is a professional member of SHRM and is currently studying to take the SHRM Certified Professional exam in the spring.
